Job Description: If you are a Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking several laboratory technicians to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.
AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:
Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test compressors.
Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes.
Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics.
Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests.
Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.
WHO YOU ARE:
You will be responsible to complete required testing and communicating test results with engineers. You will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab.

Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
High school diploma plus two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills
Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Associate's degree plus one (1) year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair
SCHEDULE
Several positions are available:
Second Shift ( 4 positions ) would consist of four ten hour work days (3:30PM - 2:00AM) Monday through Thursday, and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.
Third Shift ( 1 position ) would consist of four ten hour work days (8:30PM - 7:00AM) Monday through Thursday, and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.
Weekend 2nd Shift ( 1 position ) would consist of three twelve hour work days (6:00PM - 6:00AM) Friday through Sunday, and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.
Weekend 1st Shift ( 2 positions ) would consist of three twelve hour work days (6:00AM - 6:00PM) Friday through Sunday, and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.
