The start time is always 7 AM sharp. Quitting time each day depends on the daily work scope and tasks completed.  The employer does not guarantee 40 hour work weeks during bad weather or un-foreseen pandemic issues.  However, our standard workweek is 45+ hours.  Overtime is paid after 40 working hours.  The employer does not work Sundays or Holidays.  Saturday work could be mandated but is rare.

All individuals are required to be on time and at work every day.  Vacation for new hires is given after 360 days of employment of Five Days (or 40 hours), to use at your discretion.  Vacation time must be approved a minimum of 14 days before execution.  Approval of time off of less than 14 days is not guaranteed.

Requirements: Assist in loading and unloading of trucks & trailers with daily material required. Organizing and cleaning equipment/shop/trucks. Utilize hand tools (battery drills & saws, shovels, rakes, hand digging tools, etc.) Lifting materials and concrete. Not to exceed capable limits but must be able to lift at least 60 lbs. Assisting in job site set up & clean up job site prep. Must take orders from job site foreman & right-hand man. All work commences at 7 am sharp. Must work late if required & must work Saturdays if required. Employees are to meet at the shop each daily unless prior approval is given to drive separately. Employees must drive separate to job sites after assisting the morning load, should an employee need to leave for an appointment, etc… Laborer/Installer is the “jack of all trades” in assisting with the installation of any system.

• Responsible for paging of ancillary personnel on-call after hours, weekends & holidays as requested by Physicians or House
• Responsible for answering & timely facilitation of Hospice calls after hours, weekends & Holidays with courtesy and empathy to callers at all times. Precise and timely paging of on-call personnel for caller. Responsible if needed to stay on the line with caller as a comfort measure until nurse is able to call in and resolve the patient/family issues.
• Responsible for answering and timely facilitation of Cancer Treatment Center calls after hours, weekends & Holidays with courtesy & respect for callers and families at all times.
• Responsible for response and transfer of TTY / TDD calls (for deaf callers) to requested area’s within the Medical Center; operator must know proper terminology to communicate with these callers
• Assists customers at the Service Window in a timely manner being courteous, helpful and friendly at all times
• Answers calls in a professional manner identifying self, area and verbally offering assistance in accordance with the standard telephone courtesies
• Must be proficient in good listening skills, friendly tone of voice while speaking slowly and clearly

SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for performing installations, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers and packaged units.

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
• Fully understands the basic refrigeration cycles to include: identifying components in refrigeration circuits, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the refrigeration circuit, using manifold gauges set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging, understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping.
• Fully understands the basic heating cycle to include: identifying components in heating system, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot and repair. Fully understands and has mastered the theory of combustion and how it relates to combustible fuels such as gas and oil. Must be able to perform a combustion analysis on all combustible heating systems and analyze results.
• Fully understands electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, signal phase and three phase circuits and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read wiring advanced writing diagrams. Knowledge of Ohms Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits.
• Fully understands the fundamentals of temperature and humidity measurement and control in air conditioning units. Understands the process of treating air so as to simultaneously control its temperature, humidity, cleanliness and distribution. Ability to use a psychometric chart to determine the results of mixing air having various properties.
• Fully understands the basics of multiple systems and how each component within the system operates in conjunction with the other components and how that impacts the overall operations of the system as a whole. These systems include but are not limited to air cooled, water cooled, hot water systems, chilled water systems, VAV systems, steam heating systems and building air distribution systems.
• Fully understands basic theory building automation control system to include: identifying components used in control system, understand how each component works in relationship to automation control system, diagnosing and fixing problems in automation control system, routine maintenance on automation control system, responds to alarms from the automation control systems.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• The HVAC Tech must be able to repair, adjust, maintain, retrofit and troubleshoot all applicable equipment

A minimum of a grammar school education is essential. A high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Is already a State Tested Nurse Aide or will successfully complete and pass a State approved Nurse Aide training program and competency exam within four months of date of hire.
