Standard School Year – up to 183 days
Times will depend upon arrival and departure time of the bus from the school district for the specific student

Specific Duties:

Qualifications Needed: Major Work Qualifications:
Master’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in business, human resource management, public administration, or closely related field. Experience in personnel administration, contract administration and/or employee benefits required. Must possess a record of personal and professional integrity; understanding of change management; strong communication skills; and a commitment to cultural diversity. Must have experience in organizational development, planning and policy-making. Minimum of ten years of progressive & senior administrative management/executive experience, preferably in a higher education setting, in the area of human resources. Strong at building and establishing proactive employee relations programs/cultures and the ability to advise executives, deans, department chairs, and middle management personnel regarding a wide variety of human resources issues. Thorough knowledge of the federal and state regulations governing human resources functions. Supervisory, planning and budgeting experience and knowledge of human resources & word processing software required. PHR/SPHR certification through the HR Certification Institute/SHRM organization preferred. Must be sensitive to a student success culture and have a demonstrated commitment to the philosophy of higher education.

Summary

The Home Care Direct Support Professional (DSP) will provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community based settings.

The DSP will provide positive assistance and support to individuals by ensuring health, safety, and successful achievement of goals according to each person’s Individual Service Plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•Participate in the individual’s Service Plan meetings if requested to do so by the individual and the team of supports.

•Perform tasks and duties according to the individual’s goals stated in the Service Plan. Prioritize, maintain, and document on assistance provided to achieve the goals outlined in the Service Plan.

•Maintain a clean and safe environment and be sensitive to the consumer and family’s needs.

•Recognize and report any changes in the individual’s health, behavior, and safety.

•Provide basic personal care and grooming, including bathing, care of the hair, and assistance with clothing and other hygiene needs according to the Service Plan.

•Perform household services essential to the consumer’s health and comfort in the home (e.g. necessary changing of bed linens or rearranging of furniture to facilitate ease of movement in the home), according to the Service Plan.

•Perform, when necessary, homemaking tasks such as cooking including (feeding if necessary), cleaning, laundry and shopping.Will also be required to accompany customer to medical appointments, on walks/outings and other like appointments, according to the Service Plan.

•Assist individuals in exploring and participating in community activities, including providing transportation in either personal or company vehicles.

•Maintain client confidentiality as required by HIPPA Regulations.

•Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

•Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.

PLANNING DIVISION:
In Planning & Programs work unit under supervision & training, assists with a variety of planning activities involving traffic engineering studies ( e.g., prepares and reviews information on highway safety & speed zones; conducts traffic counts; collects & reviews field data; verifies sign locations & pavement marking locations; photographs site of proposed projects; researches & analyzes accidents & traffic signal warrants; participates in field reviews & project scoping). Assists in the scanning of plans and documents in the permits database. Assists in the processing of legislation issues and MPO matters. Assists in the Environmental area concerning the selection of potential noise walls for study, takes noise readings and updates the data base. Performs field work on selected safety locations including speed studies, pavement marking, sign and signal location. Enter and manipulate data base for environmental noise walls, safety and congestion locations and bridge conditions.

Becomes familiar with PC based & mainframe CADD systems, micro station, and various software packages used by the District, in collection of traffic engineering data & the preparation of highway plans.

Performs miscellaneous duties to facilitate operational efficiency of work unit (e.g., researches plans and records; assists with necessary record keeping; maintains accurate data of work performed; organizes materials & compiles information to assist in report preparation; attends training).

The rate of pay is based upon the student’s academic status:

Undergraduate School:
• Freshman (1st Year) $11.72
• Sophomore (2nd Year) $12.22
• Junior (3rd Year) $13.72
• Senior: $14.72
Graduate or Law School:
• 1st year $10.00-$15.66
• 2nd year $10.25-$16.41
• 3rd year $10.50-$17.91 (which is determined by the college or university.)
