If you enjoy working with your hands, solving technical challenges, and traveling across the country, this role is for you!   Northwestern Ohio Security Systems (NWOSS) is seeking a highly motivated Traveling Security Technician to support one of our key nationwide accounts. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies while traveling extensively across the U.S.   This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values independence, and is willing to travel frequently — sometimes on short notice.   This is not your typical technician role — this position offers nationwide travel, exposure to enterprise-level systems, and the opportunity to work with one of our premier national clients.   Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage systems, including:
    • Video Surveillance (CCTV)
    • Access Control Systems
    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Intercom and related technologies
  • Perform service calls and system maintenance for a nationwide key account
  • Travel extensively across the United States, including frequent trips to and around Columbus, OH
  • Respond to service needs with occasional short turnaround travel requirements
  • Install and support wired and wireless network systems
  • Train end users on system functionality and best practices
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting
  • Work independently while representing NWOSS professionally at customer sites
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in low-voltage or security system installation/service
  • Technical school training or certifications in electrical, networking, or security systems (preferred)
  • Experience with platforms such as access control, video management systems, or intrusion systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • High-level computer and networking proficiency
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
