Job Description:
The role Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and ready to take your skills to the next level in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a Mold Set-Up Technician at IPL Schoeller to support our production operations by performing mold changes, automation setups, and equipment troubleshooting. What You’ll Do As a Mold Set-Up Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping our production lines running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include: Production Setup & Support
  • Perform mold changes, insert changes, and machine start-ups.
  • Set up parts handling systems and automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production line issues, alarms, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist with blocked part recovery and sampling.
Maintenance & Repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on molds and production equipment.
  • Repair and troubleshoot hot runner systems and controllers (including wiring).
  • Fabricate and install automation guarding and parts handling solutions.
  • Support mold qualifications and engineering projects.
Documentation & Inventory
  • Maintain mold condition records and press schedules.
  • Monitor and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Complete packing slips and documentation for vendor shipments.
General Duties
  • Perform precision measurements on inserts and mold bases.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and wiring issues.
  • Assist with small part repairs and automation troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized tool area.
Qualifications:

  • Experience with precision measuring tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and above-average math skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting is a plus.
Training Provided We’ll provide training in:
  • Forklift operation
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • Arc Flash safety
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Fire extinguisher use
  • Hazard communication
Working Conditions
  • Shift: 6PM–6AM, 12-hour rotating schedule
  • Breaks: 30-minute paid lunch + three 15-minute paid breaks
  • Environment: Clean, well-ventilated, food-safe facility
  • Flooring: Concrete
  • Noise: Industrial equipment noise (hearing protection provided)
  • Lighting: Adequate artificial lighting
  • PPE Provided: Fire-rated uniforms, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, and more
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
  • Prolonged standing and walking on concrete floors
  • Manual dexterity for equipment handling
  • Use of ladders and step stools as needed
