As a Medical Billing Payment Poster, you process a high volume of payments, deductibles, denials, recoupments, and various adjustments. You accurately and quickly analyze information that is presented in multiple payer EOB formats, update account information based on patient and payer communications, and identify trends and changes in payer processing as well as payer errors. You access payer and clearinghouse websites to find patient information. You also work claim rejections in the clearinghouse and pre-bill claim errors. You're challenged and expected to meet productivity and quality performance goals. Your excellent attention to detail and decision-making skills are essential to your success in addition to your ability to quickly analyze information. Qualifications:
- Understanding of the billing process and terminology.
- Ability to analyze EOBs and calculate rates.
- Previous payment posting experience and experience with medical billing/collections policies and procedures, third-party payments, and government payer regulations desired.
- Proficient 10-key skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Certification or associate degree in a related area of study OR a minimum of 1 to 2 years of medical billing experience.
