Job Description:
Heavy Truck & Trailer Finisher   Company: Brown Industrial, Inc.   Location: Botkins, OH   Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly   Department: Assembly / Final Finishing   Job Summary   Are you a detail-oriented builder who loves seeing a project through to the very end? Brown Industrial, Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Finisher to join our manufacturing team in Botkins. As a Finisher, you will be responsible for taking newly fabricated truck bodies and trailers across the finish line.   In this role, you aren’t just putting on parts—you are the final gatekeeper of quality. You will install final electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components, and run complete functional tests to guarantee every custom truck body and trailer is road-ready, safe, and built to last.   Primary Responsibilities
  • Custom Electrical & Wiring: Run, secure, and connect complete electrical wiring harnesses for truck bodies and trailers. Install tail lights, markers, strobes, and auxiliary electrical systems according to schematic designs and DOT standards.
  • Hydraulic Systems Assembly: Route, plumb, and hook up hydraulic hoses, valves, fittings, and pumps to power custom functions (such as lift gates, dump systems, or specialty doors).
  • Final Component Installation: Install mudflaps, decals, fenders, toolboxes, bumpers, and various other purchased utility and safety hardware.
  • Quality & Diagnostic Testing: Perform comprehensive functional tests on completed units. Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical alignment issues before the unit is cleared for delivery.
  • Collaborative Assembly: Work closely with the welding, fabrication, and paint departments to maintain a smooth production flow and ensure structural specs are met.

Qualifications:
Qualifications & Skills
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of 12V DC electrical systems and wiring. Experience reading electrical and hydraulic schematics is highly preferred.
  • Mechanical Skillset: Proficient with standard shop hand tools, pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and basic diagnostic equipment (like multimeters).
  • Attention to Detail: A "sharp eye" for routing wires and hoses cleanly to prevent chafing, heat damage, or premature wear.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work inside or underneath truck bodies and trailers for extended periods. Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Quality Mindset: Pride in your work. You are the last set of eyes on our custom builds, and your work directly impacts customer safety and satisfaction.
