The Lima Civil Service Board will conduct an open and competitive written examination for the following position: GARAGE MECHANIC DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS Salary Range: Starting pay is $23.83 per hour Job Responsibilities: In addition to the following, performs other related duties as requires: Under general supervision, performs equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair functions; maintains personal and professional competence and awareness. Necessary Qualifications: The training, education, and work experience, which indicate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below. The minimum acceptable qualifications for this position are: Completion of high school education and four (4) years of progressively responsible automotive/heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience. Must obtain Class A Commercial Driver’s License with no airbrake restriction and tanker endorsements within 6 months of appointment date; air conditioning training preferred.
