Job Description:
Wild Child Playschool – Educator Job DutiesLead and supervise a small group of children ages 3–5 in a nature-inspired, play-based learning environment. Create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, and emotional growth. Foster emotional intelligence by guiding children through conflict resolution, empathy, and self-expression. Supervise outdoor play and nature exploration, ensuring safety while encouraging risk-taking and problem-solving. Prepare and maintain the learning environment—both indoors and outdoors—to be safe, organized, and inviting. Communicate regularly with families about children’s experiences, progress, and needs in a professional, supportive manner. Model respect and kindness toward children, families, and coworkers. Encourage independence in self-care routines such as handwashing, snack time, and cleanup. Observe and document children’s developmental milestones and interests to guide future planning. Collaborate with the director to ensure activities align with Wild Child Playschool’s philosophy and seasonal rhythms.
Qualifications:
Experience working with preschool-aged children (3–5 years) in a group setting preferred. However, training is available to the right candidate. Passion for play-based, child-led learning and connecting children with nature. Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and respectful environment for children and families. Strong communication skills with both children and adults. Reliability, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. Physically able to bend, lift, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Background check required before hire.
