Job Description:

Diesel Mechanic – Concrete Ready Mix

Baker-Shindler Co. is seeking a dependable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining ready mix trucks, trailers, and plant equipment to keep our operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, trailers, loaders, and plant equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues
• Complete brake, suspension, engine, transmission, and drum repairs
• Respond to breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime
• Conduct inspections and ensure DOT compliance
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Keep shop and work areas clean and organized
• Work closely with operations personnel to prioritize repairs and equipment availability

Qualifications

• Experience working on diesel equipment and heavy trucks required
• Experience with ready mix equipment or heavy construction equipment preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; CDL is preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
