- Supports the vision of the center and the Lead Teacher
- Provides an atmosphere of learning in the classroom
- Monitors behavior in the classroom and addresses it to ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all children
- Provides 1:1 or small group care for children who need additional assistance in the classroom
- Coordinates with the Lead Teacher and implements lesson plans in accordance with the creative curriculum
- Serves and cleans children up after meals and projects
- Assists the Lead Teacher in providing a fun, safe learning environment
- Accepts and performs tasks of the Lead Teacher in his/her absence
- Remains current on all selected trainings and professional development to maintain compliance and be in line with the vision of the center
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and center events
- Meets expectations of delivering exceptional customer service to families enrolled at CELC
- Reports pass-down via communication book and parent log in respective classroom(s), ensuring continuity of care throughout the day
- Maintains a clean and positive environment for children and staff
- Reports classroom issues such as broken items, children’s behavior, and general concerns to the Assistant Administrator
- Reports to work as scheduled and follows all attendance/time off policies
- Lead by example in character, actions, and communication
- Maintains confidentiality, reports suspicion of child abuse, and performs first aid and CPR as needed
- Completes and submits all required paperwork for compliance regulations for CELC, SUTQ, ODJFS, and CACFP, and any other bodies governing or partnering with the center as required
- Knows and adheres to classroom ratio along with knowing the youngest and oldest child in that classroom
- Helps train new hires coming into the classroom
- You may be asked to help the Lead Teacher with some of their paperwork
- You will help with the weekly bleaching schedule that needs to be followed for that classroom
- Knows proper serving sizes for the children in your classroom
- Verifies identification for adults picking up children as needed

- High school diploma is required; CDA, Associate degree preferred
- Must love to work with children, families, and staff
- CPR/First Aid Certification, Child Abuse Training, and Communicable Disease Training
- Be willing to participate in a state and federal background check
