Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt Department: Operations Reports to: Warehouse Manager Who we are: Spartan Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) company headquartered in Columbus, OH. We specialize in a unique logistics model: We own and operate our own warehouses, fleet, forklifts, and other key equipment. We have decades of experience in fast-moving inventory, especially food and beverages, and are veteran handlers of glass, paper, packaging materials, and more. With our staff of more than 300, we operate over 3 million square feet of warehouse space strategically placed throughout Ohio, Indiana, South Carolina, Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas. Job Summary: As a Spotter at Spartan Logistics, your main responsibility is to safely transport trailers to designated positions within the warehouse yard. Job Outline: The Spotter will fulfill the following duties: • Transports trailers in and out of docks within the yard • Monitors all trailers in the yard, empty or loaded, condition and number of trailers • Completes pre/post trip inspections. • Under the direction of the supervisor, moves trailers per instructions • Attends safety meetings • Performs all other duties assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Education and Experience: CDL A License Required Seven months to 1 year experience in a driving position is preferred. Skills and Qualifications: • Mechanical knowledge to recognize issues during trailer inspections. • Attention to detail • Organizational skills How you will be Measured: • Following Spartan Core Values • Accuracy of moves • Compliance with regulations • Safety Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a Full-Time position. This position is expected to be in the office during standard working hours at the warehouse location. Occasional long hours are required as needed. Physical Demands: • Ability to sit for the majority of the workday. • Will occasionally stand, walk, bend, climb, squat, or reach.
