Job Description:
Job Duties:

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components for buses, trucks, trailers, and other transportation equipment.
• Repair and fabricate structural components, brackets, panels, frames, exhaust systems, and safety-related parts.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts using hand tools, grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment.
• Repair corrosion damage and reinforce structural areas to extend equipment service life.
• Ensure all welds meet DOT, safety, and fleet maintenance standards.
• Inspect completed welds for strength, alignment, and quality; perform grinding and finishing as needed.
• Operate shop equipment safely, including welders, plasma cutters, cutting torches, and power tools.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup for stainless steel applications to prevent contamination.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with mechanics and maintenance technicians to minimize vehicle downtime and support fleet operations.
