Job Description:
During the Nurse Externship Program, students are assigned to preceptors who are experienced Registered Nurses chosen for their excellence in practice. Externs participate in a number of clinical experiences and attend special seminars designed to enhance their practice. Externs are assigned to areas that match their personal interests and will complete clinical rotations.

The Mercy Health Summer Nurse Externship Program is an eight-week, summer program from June 3, 2024, to July 26, 2024.

Externs will receive a stipend while in the program and are expected to work the designated schedule with an assigned preceptor, following their work schedule. Externs are also expected to attend all required educational experiences.

Qualifications:
Job Requirements for the Summer Nurse Extern Program are as follows: 1.   Currently enrolled in an accredited RN/LPN school of nursing. 2.   Entering or completing junior-level studies of the Nursing Program (graduation date of December 2024 or May 2025). 3.   Commit to the entire summer program. 4.   Complete Online Employment Application.
