Bittersweet, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides residential, vocational, and recreational services to individuals with autism. Bittersweet is seeking a Part-time Direct Support Professional to work First shift in our Lima day program. This position is a part time position working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 7:30AM-4:15PM. **This position requires requires a valid driver's license & auto insurance. Must have a clean driving record for the last three years. Candidate must be able to start the first week of ASAP. ** Direct Support Professionals help enrich lives and make a difference while also providing you with valuable work experience. Direct Support Professionals teach, mentor and positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities through skills development. Responsibilities of Direct Support Professionals:
  • Provide person-centered supports which requires flexibility, creativity and commitment
  • Work in partnership with participants
  • Promote communication, choice, independence, socialization, and empowerment for the participants
Skills of Direct Support Professionals:
  • Possess and uses empathy in all actions and interactions
  • Effectively work in teams with co-workers and participants
  • Ability to express patience in difficult situations
  • Ability to drive daily routes in our company vehicles and provide transportation for our participants

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Auto Insurance
  • Clean Driving Record for the last three years.
  • Ability to pass physical/drug screen prior to start date.
  • Must be able to work from 7:30AM -4:15PM.
