Career Camp 2024 – REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
We are excited to welcome your son/daughter to Apollo’s third summer Career Camp being held at Apollo Career Center June 4 & 5, 8:30 AM – 11:45 AM. Career Camp is two days full of hands-on, high-tech career exploration for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
Drop-off and pickup will be in front of the main building. Please look for event entrance signs. We will be providing lunch each day. Both lunches are included in the admission fee. (Pizza, chips, cookies and drink)
Each camper will receive a T-shirt
Cost of the camp is $25
Deadline to register for camp is May 6
All campers are required to wear closed-toe shoes ie. tennis shoes, long pants
Career Camp Options:
- Automation & Robotics: The ultimate showdown is here! Robots combine the craftsmanship of engineering with the high-octane excitement of a robotics championship. Grab your goggles and get ready to build a robot from scratch before battling in the arena
- Cosmetology: Spend 2 days learning about the cosmetology field! We will concentrate on the color wheel, nail art, skincare, personal grooming and so much more! Participants will get daily hands-on experience practicing the most current beauty trends and receive some goodies to help them sparkle all summer long!
- Electrical: Electricity is the foundational force that built our modern world. Join us to learn how electricity is created, harnessed and applied in your daily life. Students will learn hands on basic electrical skills and fundamentals and create an electrifying take home project! Long pants, closed-toed shoes are required. Gloves and safety glasses will be provided.
- Fire/EMT: Learn what to do when someone is hurt, there is an emergency, and what it takes to be a firefighter/first responder! 6th-8th grade students will experience the fire training tower and learn about this exciting, in-demand career. Campers will be going outside, so dress appropriately!
- Multimedia: 6th-8th grade students will capture photos and videos inside and outdoors and learn how to edit and process those images. Students will be given a camera to keep and create some really cool make-and-take projects.
- Robotics/CNC: 6th-8th grade students will learn how a robot functions and how to program commands. Students will also function 3-D printers, learn software and produce parts. Long pants and closed-toe shoes required.
